Guests of this year's Baltic Sea Tourism Forum can expect a programme full of variety. In addition to profound panel discussions on macro-regional cooperation in the Baltic Sea region and cooperation patterns post 2020, renowned Key Note speakers will once again provide inspiration and new insights on 21st century tourism.

One of them is Anna Pollock, Founder of Conscious.Travel and an independent consultant, strategist, international speaker and change agent in the field of tourism.

Anna Pollock has undertaken seminal work in many aspects of tourism notably in education, sustainability and technology. During the 1990s, she established herself as a thought leader on the strategic implications of the Internet; created the first internet-based tourism strategy for Scotland and co-developed one of the first multi-purpose destination management systems. In the last 45 years, Anna Pollock has helped to make sense of the rapidly and dramatically changing world we live in. Her passion is to help hosts and destinations flourish through a period of turbulent change and uncertainty in which many traditional business models are being disrupted and deal with the thorny issue of “overtourism”. She now focuses on models of destination development that generate higher yields with less impact and is not afraid to ask difficult questions. Following the title “Flourishing Beyond Sustainability: Towards a Regenerative Tourism”, Anna Pollock will also stimulate fresh thinking at the 12th Baltic Sea Tourism Forum in Brussels.

Up until this day, her clients included the Canadian Tourism Commission, PATA, the European Travel Commission, the Australian Tourism Export Council, Tourism Tasmania, Innovation Norway, and departments of industry, conservation and tourism in New Zealand. Anna Pollock even predicted the emergence of a company like Airbnb back in 2004 and was invited to speak at the annual Airbnb Summit in Paris in 2015.
