13th Baltic Sea Tourism Forum: From Palanga to your office

We are facing an unprecedented situation: a pandemic, shutdown of countries and economies. Travel was out of the question for many weeks, and even now, we are unsure which behaviour is appropriate. This situation has also posed challenges for us as organizers of the BSTF. Cross-border cooperation and the BSTF live of face-to-face interaction and networking. Nevertheless, being aware of the current insecurities and the unknown of future developments, the BSTF 2020 will be organised as an one-day online forum.

Mark your Calendar: We are inviting you to join us on your personal computer and visit Palanga, one of the BSR finest gems, virtually on 12.11.2020.

The 13th BSTF 2020 is organised by the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, the Baltic Sea Tourism Center and the Policy Area Tourism of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, with strong support by a group of likeminded partners.

Background

Ever since its initiation in 2008 the BSTF has actively contributed to more dialogue and understanding in tourism in the Baltic Sea region. Over more than one decade, the forum has grown into a stable and sustainable platform for exchange and knowledge transfer. Peer learning is an elementary tool of the forum. It helps bringing key players together with the aim to create transparency among existing activities and design a bedrock for future practices. The BSTF aims to promote dialogue, consensus building and a shared vision on the key challenges of tourism development around the Baltic Sea and makes a significant contribution to the implementation process of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region as the first macro-regional strategy in Europe.
